Local Mass Finder · last updated 2026-10-20
The Mac app collects nothing. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. It is built without the network entitlement, so it cannot reach the internet at all — the entire catalog of parishes and service times is bundled inside the app itself.
The Mac app
- No data is collected or transmitted. The app makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server behind it.
- No account, ever. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
- Your saved parishes and reminder lead time are stored in macOS preferences on your own Mac. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Reminders are local. When you turn on a reminder, macOS schedules a notification on your Mac. No push server is involved.
- No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs are linked into the app.
- No payments. The Mac app is free and contains no purchases.
- Two optional hand-offs. If you tap a parish's own website or phone number, macOS opens that link in your browser or phone app. That is a visit to the parish's site, not a request made by this app, and what happens there is covered by their privacy policy.
The website
This website, church.analogarcade.net, is separate from the Mac app, and unlike
the app it does record your visit. This is everything it uses:
- Our own visit log. Every page view writes one record to our Cloudflare
storage. That record holds your IP address; the approximate location Cloudflare works out
from it (country, region, city, postal code and the coordinates of that area — not your
device's GPS); your network provider; your browser, operating system, device type and full
browser identification string; your language, locale, time zone and screen size; the page you
were on, including anything after the
?, plus its title and how long you stayed; the site that linked you here; any campaign tag in that link; a random id that ties one browsing session together; and which faith you picked in the filter. Only the most recent 5,000 records are kept — older ones are overwritten — and only the site's owner can read them. Crawlers and bots are not recorded at all. - Cloudflare Web Analytics — aggregate page-view counts. It is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors or build a cross-site profile.
- Cloudflare serves and protects the site, and keeps its own standard request logs for security and abuse prevention.
- Stripe handles the optional tip link, if you choose to use it. Checkout happens on Stripe's own pages; card details never reach us or this site.
The website sets no advertising cookies and carries no ad networks. The visit log exists for one reason: to see whether anyone is actually finding a Mass time. It is never sold, never shared, and never used to advertise to you.
The faith you select is a record of religious belief, and it sits in that log next to your IP address. If you would rather we did not hold it, write to the address at the bottom of this page and we will delete every record we have that matches you.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
Children
The Mac app collects nothing from anyone, including children. The website's visit log, described above, holds no name, email or account — but it does hold an IP address, and it cannot tell a child's visit from an adult's. Nothing here is aimed at children specifically, we never ask any visitor who they are, and we do not knowingly build a profile of anyone.
Parish information
Service times, addresses and phone numbers in the catalog are public information published by the places of worship themselves. If you are parish staff and something about your listing is wrong or you want it removed, write to us and we will correct it.
